Further Plaque Details

A translation of the plaque is as follows:
The Chi-Rho symbol stands for the first two letters in Christos / Khristos.
The Chi-Rho symbol was also used by pagan Greek scribes to mark, in the margin, a particularly valuable or relevant passage; the combined letters Chi and Rho standing for chreston, meaning "good."

In honour of God the Father of compassion and of consolation,
and in sacred memory of the greatly mourned Christopher Pleydell-Bouverie,
this foundation stone to the chapel of the Blessed Virgin Mary
(BVM = Beata Virgo Maria - Beatae Virginis Mariae in the genitive case)
was laid by John, Bishop [ Epo = episcopus] of Salisbury on the 8th day of July 1893.

Christopher Pleydell-Bouverie was born 30 December 1856,
died 22 March 1892; son of Jacob Bouverie, 4th Earl of Radnor.
John was Bishop Wordsworth, who was bishop from 1885-1911 and founded BWS.
